As an organization that deeply values freedom of speech, our organization is very sympathetic to the goal of this bill, which would have created a broad statutory right to free speech and the free exercise of religion for all employees in the private sector. As such, we supported a bill which would protect employees from being disciplined if they refused to attend a employer-sponsored meeting or to listen or view an employer's communications with opinions, on religious or political matters that are unrelated to the company's business activities.
