Current law allows municipalities to limit the maximum number of unrelated persons who can live together in a dwelling, but of no less than three people. We supported this bill which would increase the limit to five, but noted that this legislation provided the opportunity to consider whether the towns should be able to limit this number at all in light of this state’s current dire housing crisis and the unfair focus on the kinship status of renters.
