Clark v. Providence Police Department

This is a charge of race discrimination against the Providence Police Department and a formal claim for damages with the City of Providence. The damages claim is a legal prerequisite to the filing of a lawsuit on behalf of the plaintiff, Michael Clark, an African-American recruit who was dismissed

Carroll v. Craddock

This is a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of a state law that gives the DMV Administrator carte blanche authority to deny vanity license plates based on whether he thinks they “might carry connotations offensive to good taste and decency.”

McKinney v. RIDOC

This is a habeas corpus petition which argues that an inmate is being unlawfully held despite a decision by the R.I. Parole Board that he was qualified and ready for release on supervised parole. Update: Defendants agreed to release inmate.

January 21, 2020 Criminal Justice Due Process

Robbio v. Raimondo

This is a discrimination complaint filed with the RI Commission for Human Rights against RI Department of Human Services for illegally using an employee’s non-conviction criminal history to terminate her employment.
