The ACLU opposed two Senate bills changing the composition of the state’s criminal justice oversight committee to add a member of a faith-based organization. The Affiliate noted that the General Assembly might want to add a community representative to the committee, but limiting a seat to a member of a faith based organization raised First Amendment concerns.
